Important update - we’re moving to the NHS App.

Important update

From 1st December 2023 patients can no longer register for the Rotherham Health App. Please use the NHS App instead.

To find out why we’re moving to the NHS App, view our FAQ at the bottom of this page.

From 31st March 2024, existing users will no longer be able to use the Rotherham Health App.

You will be able to use your existing login method (NHS login) to log into the NHS App.

You will be able to manage your appointments, repeat prescriptions and access your medical record on the NHS App instead.

You can always sign up early to the NHS App to see which services you are able to access. You can find more information here.

Once enabled by your practice, the NHS App will enable you to:

  • Book appointments at your practice

  • Order repeat prescriptions

  • Manage your nominated pharmacy

  • View your health record

  • Send request to your practice (e.g. fit/sick notes)

FAQs

What is the NHS App?

The NHS App is owned and run by the NHS. It can be accessed by anyone aged 13 and over registered with an NHS GP surgery in England or Isle of Man. Once you have verified your identity in the app, you will have easy, 24/7 access to a growing range of health services and information. It doesn’t replace existing services. You can still contact your GP surgery in the usual ways.

Why are we recommending patients to use the NHS App?

The NHS App has been developed by NHS England to provide patients with a secure way to access their health record and to provide online access to NHS services. The NHS App team are continuing to develop the NHS App so that there is more that patients can do online and to ensure it is easy to use for patients.

How can I access services online?

The NHS App can now offer patients the same online access to services as the Rotherham Health App. You will be able to use the same login method (NHS login) that you are currently using for the Rotherham Health App to log on to the NHS App, this means you won’t have to create a new account for the NHS App and can log straight into the NHS App.

I have an account on the Rotherham Health App. Do I need to register for the NHS App?

No, you will not need to register for the NHS App. You will be able to use the same login method (NHS login) you are currently using for the Rotherham Health App to log on to the NHS App, this means you won’t have to create a new account for the NHS App and can log straight into the NHS App.

Will I be able to carry out all the same things in the NHS App that I can do now in the Rotherham Health app?

We are working hard with all practices to make sure that all functionality in the Rotherham Health app can be done in the NHS App. Where this is not possible for technical reasons, you will still be able to contact your practice in the traditional way.

Medication status - will my meds still be processed after the switch off date?

Where medication has been requested via the Rotherham Health App prior to the switch off date, your request will still be processed and you will be able to view this in the NHS App instead.

Appointment Status - will my Appointments still be Booked after the switch off date?

Yes, you will see the appointments you have booked at your GP surgery on the NHS App and you will be able to cancel your appointment. Extended access appointments booked at one of the Rotherham hubs will not be visible on the NHS App.

Will my Rotherham Health app account be deleted?

Yes, from 1st April 2024 all personal data (your account information e.g. email address) held in the Rotherham Health App will be deleted.

What happens to my medical data in the Rotherham Health App?

No medical data is held by the Rotherham Health App. Your GP holds all your medical data on their clinical system, which is only accessed and shown via the Rotherham Health App.
